Coloured postcard depicting actor and actor-manager Sir Henry Irving as the Vicar Dr. Primrose in 'Olivia', the 1885 stage adaptation of Oliver Goldsmith's novel 'The Vicar of Wakefield' at the Lyceum Theatre, London. Irving is depicted full-length and standing in a garden facing the left. He wears a black long coat, white shirt, black stockings and buckled shoes. He holds a cane in his left hand and a black tricorn hat in his right.
