Postcard depicting Angelita Helena (Nell) De Silva Ferro as Mimi and Sir John Martin-Harvey as Sydney Carton in 'The Only Way', performed at the Lyceum Theatre, 1899. De Silva married the actor John Martin-Harvey in 1889 and was his leading lady for many years. They are depicted full length in a simple interior with a brick wall behind them and table to their right. Martin-Harvey sits on a chair and rests his right elbow on the table and faces the right, while De Silva stands behind him and looks downwards towards the left. Martin-Harvey wears a long dark coat with embroidered detail around the buttons, a waistcoat, shirt, cravat, trousers and knee-high boots. De Silva wears a dress with three-quarter length sleeves and a white bonnet.
