Exhibition history

Garrick Club Exhibition 'Laughter Lines - Actor Members of the Club in 'Garrickature'' (August - December 2019), Curated by Dr Mark Bryant

Hare walks down a gang-plank from a ship; over his shoulder he holds a stick on which are are six strings with dangling hearts. His striped trousers have dollar signs over the pockets.
The iconography presumably refers to the hearts Hare had won in America and to the dollars he brought back with him.
