See also S0058. A variant of this medallion was sold at Sotheby's Belgravia 19 March 1975 (lot 34a). It has no lettering above the head, but is signed and dated Albert Toft '87 below the left shoulder. Another variant in the Mander and Mitchenson Theatre Collection has no lettering at all.
