Cabinet card depicting the actor Lewis Waller in the title role of 'Monsieur Beaucaire', a romantic comedy adapted from Booth Tarkington's 1900 novel. Waller produced and starred as the lead at London's Comedy Theatre in 1902. Waller is depicted in half-length and seated to the right. He wears a jacket with satin trim, high neck shirt with ruffles, jewelled brooches and powdered wig.
