Carte-de-visite depicting actress Sarah Jane Woolgar. She married Alfred Mellon, a well-known conductor and composer, in 1855. She is depicted three-quarter length and seated facing the right. She wears a black dress with white ruffle detail on the neckline and a piece of black ribbon is tied into a bow on the back of her neck.
